Dubbo West Rotary's first online fundraising raffle ended, with the winners drawn, just before Christmas, and it has been a huge success for the club.
Normally, the club would be raffling off a trailer, filled with camping and other exciting goods. However, due to covid-19 restrictions, and the possibility of not being able to promote at shopping centres, the club took the opportunity to try something new and raise funds through online means, hosted by Rafflelink.
The promotion rang over three months, with much advertising being conducted through the several ways, including local free paper, radio, Facebook, and flyers in A4 and DL size. A few members walked the streets of Dubbo and placed flyers in the residents' letterboxes, and there were large stands with flyers inserted, so that the public could take a copy home.
For ease, the public could either purchase tickets through the online website, or using a special QR code.
The raffle closed on the evening of Tuesday 22 December, with the raffle drawn at Club Dubbo at around 7pm on Wednesday 23 December. The raffle draw was live-streamed through the club's Facebook page
The winners were:
1st Prize - Gordon Hammond, Mt Riverview
2nd Prize - Luka Group, Dubbo
3rd Prize - Faye McLellan, Dubbo
